Behind the Scenes

The principal filming for In Search of Liberty took place in the charming coastal and historical seaport setting in Savannah, Georgia. Known for picturesque city park squares, cobblestone streets, spreading oak trees adorned with Spanish moss and buildings dating back to the early 1700s, the heart of Savannah exudes antebellum elegance, harkening back to colonial times.

The historic downtown district is one of the largest National Historic Landmark Districts in the United States. As the oldest city in Georgia, Savannah retains founder James Oglethorpe’s original town plan and provides an exciting historical backdrop for the telling of a story involving historical characters. Our cast and crew thoroughly enjoyed the local hospitality and community support on-set during the summer of 2016, some of which was captured behind the scenes.
