Regardless of how certain politicians attempt to twist or spin what is going on (and has been going on) at our Southern Border, it is nothing less than an invasion.
While Nancy Pelosi fervently claims that President Trump has "manufactured" this crisis, her words are false, as in, what she says is a blatant lie.
It is not manufactured and it is a crisis, and has been for years. The problem became worse just prior to the 2018 mid-term elections when thousands of illegals marched from South and Central America to our border, supposedly seeking asylum, but, when interviewed, many just wanted to be in the United States.
Schumer and Pelosi, among others, championed these marchers, basically demanding that we allow them into our country, without so much as background checks or vetting of any type.
The issue with this is monumental. There are currently well over 12 million illegal aliens - many living in "sanctuary" cities, counties and states - who live off of billions upon billions of dollars of taxpayer money annually, including free healthcare.
One of the definitions of invasion, from the 1828 Webster's Dictionary, is "An attack on the rights of another; infringement or violation."
Factually, any person or family who has entered our country illegally, remains here and is then given taxpayer money for any reason, is an invader as they are infringing on our economic system and taking funds away from (infringing) law-abiding American Citizens, such as disabled Veterans or our own homeless, among others.
Here are the facts...
Article IV, Section 4, of the Constitution of the United States reads:
“The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union, a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot convene) against domestic violence."
Note the important part of this, "...shall protect each of them against invasion..."
It is the job of Congress to do this.
And, aside from those just wishing to live here, this does not even take into account the criminals who could, and do, enter our country who are involved in drug smuggling, sex trafficking and more.
Pelosi claims President Trump manufactured this crisis and has issued an Executive Order to construct sections of border wall security at our most vulnerable points.
However, as stated, Pelosi lies.
She further claims that President Trump's Order is unconstitutional as it is Congress' job to do this.
So, why don't they?
It is not manufactured. It is a crisis.
Over a decade ago Congress passed the Secure Fence Act of 2006 (H.R. 6061) that authorized and partially funded over 700 miles of fence/barrier construction, among other measures.
It was signed into law by President G. W. Bush, who stated, "This bill will help protect the American people. This bill will make our borders more secure. It is an important step toward immigration reform."
The House passed it by a vote of 283-138 and the Senate 80-19, which included 23 Democratic Senators (such as B. Obama, H. Clinton and C. Schumer). These same Democrats echoed the same sentiments as Bush did about illegal immigration ... until President Trump was elected.
Our country has a system set up for immigrants to enter legally. To live. To become citizens, if they wish.
It is time that those elected to Congress, to serve Americans, honor their Oath of Office - which includes the statement, to "...support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic..." - instead of exhibiting the kindergarten mentality Nancy and Chuckie express towards our president and his desire to protect America.

The entertaining and informative In Search of Liberty movie is a great refresher (if it's been a while) or educational tool (for those who know very little) about our U.S. Constitution, and is a movie that All Americans should watch.
